Dear Parents and Students,

As the new school year begins at Velissaratou Language School, I am thrilled to welcome each one of you—whether you are returning or joining us for the first time. This is a special moment filled with exciting opportunities for growth, discovery, and connection through the power of language.

Learning a language is much like embarking on an adventurous journey. There will be moments of delight when everything clicks and moments where we might feel “lost in translation.” But that’s the magic of it — every challenge is a stepping stone, every mistake a chance to learn and grow. Together, we’ll explore new words, express our ideas, and share stories in both English and French, building bridges that connect us to new cultures and friends.

I invite parents to join us in encouraging their children’s curiosity and bravery, reminding them that learning is a joyful process worth embracing. To my students, I want you to know that every voice matters here—you are all storytellers in the making, and your stories matter.
